Voices of Hope – Community Health Initiative (Vanuatu)
A new community initiative is being launched to support the health and wellbeing of villages and schools across Vanuatu.
Voices of Hope is a grassroots project founded by New Zealander Jason Horan, now based in Sydney, with strong connections across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.
The initiative will begin with mobile dental clinics travelling village to village across Vanuatu. These clinics will provide basic dental care, oral health education, and community health surveys to both children and families.
The clinics will operate from mobile dental vans supported by volunteer dentists from around the world. These vans will visit schools and communities, helping treat simple dental problems while identifying patients who may need further care through local dentists.
The goal is simple:
bring practical health support directly to communities while building long-term knowledge about nutrition, gut health, and wellbeing.
Alongside dental care, the program will also collect anonymous health and nutrition information to better understand how food, lifestyle, and oral health affect communities.
This initiative is the first stage of a larger long-term vision focused on:
• improving community health
• supporting schools and young people
• strengthening education about nutrition and wellbeing
• helping communities access practical health services
Voices of Hope is being developed with support from community leaders, volunteers, and supporters in Vanuatu, Australia, and New Zealand.
We are currently connecting with:
• volunteer dentists
• schools and village communities
• sponsors and supporters
• organisations interested in helping strengthen Pacific communities
